Session information
The recorder – an instrument for mass instruction
Music is for all, but not all students can afford expensive instruments or private tuition. This workshop will provide classroom teachers and music specialists with practical tips for implementing an accessible and achievable recorder program across a whole class, Stage or school.
Participants will be introduced to a variety of engaging bite-sized recorder lessons that could be taught by any teacher. With a focus on short, regular practice sessions, these lessons will have students and teachers experiencing the joy of instrumental music making in no time.
The workshop will also include an overview of the programs offered by The Arts Unit, elaborating on how these programs can extend and enrich school instrumental and choral programs.
