Session information
Symphonic Classroom
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s teaching resource kits offer a unique educational experience, designed to immerse students in orchestral music.
In this session, dynamic educator and musician Tim Hansen will guide you through how to effectively use these resources in your classroom, with a focus on the upcoming SSO Schools Concert resource kit for Peter and the Wolf. This session will help teachers introduce classical music in an engaging and accessible way.
Eleven musicians from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will perform excerpts from Peter and the Wolf, providing a live experience of the repertoire as Tim demonstrates how to incorporate these lessons into real-life classroom situations.
This session is perfect for both generalist and specialist teachers, offering valuable insights and inspiration for integrating the Sydney Symphony’s extensive resources into your teaching practices. You’ll leave the session with practical ideas to use this and the other resources on the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s website in your classroom.
