The Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s teacher resource kits offer a unique educational experience, designed to immerse students in orchestral music. In this session, educators Daniella Garnero and Sonia de Freitas, together with members of the orchestra, will guide you through how to effectively use these resources in your classroom, with a focus on the SSO for Schools Concert resource kit for Joe Twist’s The Flying Orchestra.
This session will help teachers introduce orchestral music in an engaging and accessible way. Twelve musicians from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will perform excerpts from The Flying Orchestra, providing a live experience of the repertoire as Daniella and Sonia demonstrate how to incorporate these lessons into real-life classroom situations.
Perfect for both generalist and specialist teachers, this session offers valuable insights and inspiration for integrating the Sydney Symphony’s extensive resources into your teaching. You’ll leave with practical ideas for use in your classroom of this and other resources found on the Sydney Symphony Orchestra website.
