Coordinator, South Australia
Kate Goodes is a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in secondary schools, both in South Australia and the UK. As a passionate Head of Music and instrumental teacher specialising in piano, brass, and woodwind, she has nurtured musical talent from central London to the Flinders Ranges.
With a scholarship-awarded Masters of Music Education from UCL London, Kate embarked on a journey to broaden the horizons of music education. This led her to pivotal roles like coordinating Music in Me for South Australia, to improve music provision across the state.
At the heart of Kate’s educational philosophy lies a commitment to equity in music education. She believes that the barriers preventing access to music education, whether rooted in socioeconomic disparities, geographical constraints, or other challenges, must be dismantled. Kate is on a mission to empower others to elevate their practice and ensure that the transformative power of music is accessible to all.
