Music in Me / Sydney Catholic Schools partnership

Music in Me is proud to partner with Sydney Catholic Schools, providing a strong foundation of classroom music to support their renowned instrumental program, Amadeus.

The AYO Music in Me program is designed to upskill classroom teachers through tailored mentoring from expert music educators. Teachers participating in the program benefit from one-on-one mentorship, enhancing their confidence and competence in teaching music. This initiative is in direct response to the growing demand for quality music education in schools and aligns with research that highlights the developmental benefits of structured music learning.

This program:

• focuses on team-teaching lessons co-designed by the mentor and mentees
• provides flexible delivery negotiated between the mentor and mentees
• does not require specialised equipment or prior knowledge
• empowers teachers to confidently embed musical content into their regular teaching practice
• is linked to the NSW K-6 Creative Arts syllabus, and supports the transition to the new K-6 Creative Arts syllabus to be implemented from 2027
