Share the joy of singing
This session aims to equip primary classroom teachers and music specialists with a swag of rhymes, songs and singing games to create a joyful culture of primary classroom singing.
Music is about doing, not talking about doing, so come prepared for a physical, hands on, fun, informal and lively time together of singing and movement. Enjoy learning repertoire you can use immediately with your students to transform and nourish their musical, social and emotional learning.

Allison Harrigan
Allison is passionate about the important role of singing in creating well rounded, discerning young musicians. Following the completion of a Masters degree in choral conducting and aural training at the University of Queensland she lectured and conducted the faculty choirs at Queensland University of Technology and then Victoria’s Monash University.
Upon moving to Sydney, Allison commenced as the Director of Choral Education at Sydney Children’s Choir. She has regularly conducted choirs at Gondwana’s National Choral School including 2025’s Gondwana Novus Choir. For the past twelve years Allison has been Musical Director of Choirs for SCEGGS Darlinghurst and enjoys elevating the love and quality of singing across both the primary and secondary schools. Since 2024 she has enjoyed the role of conductor of the NSW Arts Unit’s flagship choir Senior Singers.
Allison is dedicated to supporting Australian choral composers through her repertoire choices and new commissions and was pleased to have commissions recognised by the Art Music Awards in 2016. Allison regularly lectures in Musicianship and Conducting for the Australian Kodaly Music Education Institute of Australia.
With over thirty years of experience in classroom music and choral conducting, Allison feels privileged to help music teachers to steer young musicians to reach their artistic potential through singing.
