Eight incredible artists. Eight songs for your classroom. And it’s all free.
We’re so excited to share that ABC Let’s Sing is back for 2026!
This free, curriculum-aligned singing resource — created in partnership between ABC Education and the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Music in Me program — brings some of Australia’s most loved artists into your classroom, with everything you need to make music together.
Meet the artists
This year’s lineup is genuinely something special. It spans genres and cultures, including some of Australia’s most enduring homegrown classics. There’s something here for every classroom, every student, and every teacher.
The season opens with a legend: Peter Combe performing his own Mr Clicketty Cane. If you grew up in an Australian classroom, chances are you already know every word. Aunty Sharon mirii Bell shares something truly extraordinary in Winhangagigilanha, a First Nations song in language that shares language and culture, and encourages all to care for Mother Earth.
Music extends into other subject areas as well, it’s a really important thing to do. Unfortunately there are a lot of schools where it’s not done much at all, and I’d like to see that change.

Then comes Paulini with This Is Me from The Greatest Showman — an empowering anthem that lands differently every time, no matter the age of your students. Excited to present Courtney Act performing I’m A Green Pea, a much-loved favourite from the original Sing program that teachers have been asking for ever since. Musical theatre fans will adore Lucy Durack singing Home Among The Gum Trees — one of Australia’s most iconic songs in the hands of one of its most beloved performers.
From there, Bobby Alu & Foloi Iulia bring the warmth and rhythm of Samoa with Siva Siva Maia, followed by Suara Indonesia Dance sharing Mile Mile, a traditional sitting dance and song from Indonesia that is clearly demonstrated for you to try in your classroom. Jakamo brings pure, uplifting energy to Best Day of My Life, perfect for getting a classroom on its feet.
What comes with each song?
Each song comes with a full video on the ABC Education website, introduced by the wonderful Emma Watkins (Emma Memma). You’ll get the performance with subtitles, a music education segment, and Things to Think About to spark great classroom conversations. Backing tracks and notation are included too, where available.
Behind the scenes, the Music in Me writing team — a collective of our leading music education mentors — works closely on every aspect of the project. They advise on song selection and arrangements, write the scripts for the music education segments you see on screen, and develop the learning activities that appear on the ABC Education website. They also create a full suite of free, detailed teacher notes for every song, available through the Music in Me Resource Hub. It’s a lot of love and expertise poured into every release — and it shows.
Whether you’re a specialist music teacher or a generalist who just loves a good sing-along, there’s everything you need to get started with confidence.
I believe that music is essential for every child, no matter who they are, where they come from, what their background is. When we listen to music, it lights up our language networks, it helps us to understand ourselves and each other better, our capacity for emotion, for reason, as social creatures.

ABC Let’s Sing is a collaboration between ABC Education and the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Music in Me program.
I think Let’s Sing is hopefully going to encourage a whole new generation of singers because I genuinely believe that everybody can sing. For any teachers who don’t have a music background but want to incorporate music into their lessons, I would say definitely do it. Just have a bit of courage and confidence and, don’t take yourself too seriously and just add some music to everybody’s day.
